Travel Blog:Debotakhum
Today I’m going to write about the most famous tourist attraction Debotakhum.Hope you will find it informative and helpful.
Debotakhum is located at Roangchhari upazila of Bandarban. Bandarban is said to be the paradise of khum and the major attraction of this paradise is Debotakhum. The khum is about 50-60 feet deep and 600 feet long which is much bigger than many other khums and much more wild and spooky. Like a haunted environment there is silent silence everywhere. In rainy season the trail of Debotakhum becomes more beautiful and eye catcher. The trail will catch your eye in the form of a ridge, but it’s risky too much. There is also slippery rocky path. You have to be very careful when crossing the path. We can say that debotakhum trail is as the crown of excellence of Bandarban as it is terrifying.

Before debotakhum you have to cross one more khum called Pong Su Aung Khum. To the locals it is Sonakhum. It’s also called thanachikhum in marma language. Debotakhum owns a silent and haunted environment which attracts the tourists more. No noise, no turbulences, out of network, out of out cry of city life. The path has gone through the middle of two huge mountains which you have to give by raft. Impossible kind of adventure, perfect divinity to frighten the mind.Vela kayaking is a combo package of everything, trekking, adventure, risk. There are the sound of water gushing from above, the sound of their own raft and the echo of your words. The surroundings are so scary, haunted, and silent that it will give you a feel of real adventure. This khum is very dark in the inside. Sunlight can hardly reach there. On the way to Debotakhum you will find a fountain. It’s called Shilbandha jharna. Check out the fountain on the way. On the way from Kacchaptali to Debotakhum you will be totally out of the network.

The way to Debotakhum :

From any where of Bangladesh you have to go to Bandarban first. From there by bus/ chander gari/ motor bike to Roangchhari. From there by CNG/ motor cycle to kacchaptali bazaar. Then walk for an hour and a half on foot.
